Abstract

Bhiwadi, located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, has emerged as one of the most prominent industrial hubs in northern India and forms an integral part of the National Capital Region (NCR). This research paper presents a detailed geographical analysis of Bhiwadi’s industrial development, examining its locational advantages, resource base, infrastructural facilities, industrial composition, and socio-economic impacts. The study also evaluates the environmental implications of rapid industrialization and highlights the challenges of sustainable development. The findings suggest that Bhiwadi’s growth is largely driven by its strategic proximity to Delhi, supportive government policies, availability of labor, and strong transport connectivity. However, environmental degradation, water scarcity, and unplanned urbanization remain critical concerns. The paper concludes by recommending sustainable industrial practices and policy interventions for balanced regional development.
